Vintage 531 Motobecane

I rarely get excited about bicycles with derailleurs but I ran across this gorgeous 1975 Motobecane Grand Record in a Flickr group and thought maybe some of you might enjoy it too. It's a nice mix of period components and modern touches that look just right on an older bike. This is how it should be done imho. The owner has put up a website with more photos and all the build details here.

I've been on the motobecane kick of lates. This summer I bought a mirage and then a month later I found a super mirage. I love these bikes. I recently turned my mirage into a fixed gear.

Bike looks great but it actually looks like a 1976.
In 75 the oval top section of the chain stays was painted red and outlined in gold. Also in 75 the the French text Reynolds decals used where still the old type without the gold band and black text. (ref: 1975 Motobecane Catalog and personal 75 Grand Record owned since new.)
Check out the 75 Motobecane Grand Record and you will see the differences.

My mistake: I mean't seat stays!
Sorry about that.
